Item Agent-Based Simulation Model of Multimodal Iron Ore Concentrate Transportation(National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2023) Namazov, Manafaddin; Matsiuk, Viacheslav; Bulgakova, Iuliia; Nikolaienko, Iryna; Vernyhora, Roman V.ENG: Most global supply chains are implemented through the use of some different types of transport. This especially applies to general cargo: iron ore, oil, grain. As the participants in the transport process increase, the risks of delays, interoperational downtime, and delays in deliveries increase. Therefore, the improvement of multimodal cargo transportation remains an urgent scientific and applied problem. The aim of studying was to research technical and operational parameters of the multimodal supply chain of cargo delivery (on the example of iron ore concentrate). The research's aim of the study was realized by the development of an agent-based simulation model. The simulation model is implemented in the Any Logic Research Edition environment with Java SE, as this toolkit allows combining discrete-event and agent-based approaches in the simulation simultaneously. As a result of the experiment with the developed simulation model, it was found that: 1) approximately 40% of the delivery time is spent waiting for the transport unit to load (8%) and freight being under collecting up to the loading rate into the transport unit (33%); 2) the sensitivity experiment of the model has determined that of all the variable technological parameters of the basic model, the difference in the ratio between the rate of loading of the railway train and the sea vessel has the greatest influence on the average time of freight delivery; 3) the relationship between the capacity of the vessel (with a constant rate of mass shipment into the railway train) and the average time of shipment collecting to the rate of loading into the vessel in case of accidental arrival of freight by rail in the transshipment terminal is highly approximate linear dependence. The results of the research can be used to improve the logistics chains for the delivery of iron ore concentrate from Ukraine to other countries.Item Determining Loading Patterns in the Bearing Structure of a Railroad Flatcar with a Floor Made from Sandwich Panels(PC TECHNOLOGY CENTER, 2023) Lovska, Alyona O.; Nerubatskyi, Volodymyr; Okorokov, Andrii M.; Vernyhora, Roman V.; Zhuravel, Iryna L.ENG: The object of research is the processes of emergence, perception, and redistribution of loads in the supporting structure of a flatcar with a floor made of sandwich panels. To reduce the impact of dynamic loads on the supporting structure of a flatcar, as well as the safety of goods transported in it, it is proposed to manufacture floors from sandwich panels. Within the framework of the study, mathematical modeling of the dynamic load on a flatcar when it runs in a loaded state was carried out. It was found that, taking into account the proposed solution, the accelerations acting on the supporting structure of a flatcar are reduced by 8.4 % compared to the typical one. At the same time, accelerations acting on cargo placed on a flatbed car are reduced by 11.7 %. The results of calculating the strength of sandwich panels, when arranged on a flatcar, proved the feasibility of the proposed improvement. The main indicators of dynamics of the improved flatcar structure operated in an empty state were determined. It was established that the flatcar movement is assessed as "good". A feature of the results reported here is that the improved supporting structure of a flatcar contributes not only to reducing its dynamic load but also to improving the safety of transported cargoes. The scope of practical application of the results is the engineering industry, in particular, railroad transport. The condition for the practical application of the research results is the use of energy-absorbing material in the structure of sandwich panels. The study could contribute to devising recommendations regarding the design of modern structures of railroad vehicles and increasing the efficiency of the functioning of the transportation industry.Item Forming an Automated Technology to Actively Monitor the Transportation of Dangerous Cargoes by Railroad(ПП «Технологічний Центр», Харків, 2020) Lavrukhin, Oleksandr; Vernyhora, Roman V.; Schevcenko, Vitaliy; Kyman, Andrii; Shulika, Olha; Kulova, Daria; Kim, KaterynaENG: The approach has been proposed to form automated technology in order to actively monitor the transportation of dangerous goods by railroad. The reported approach to the dynamic description of trains' status has been developed on the basis of modifying the language of trains' status in the form of abstract modeling of operational processes. This will ensure the fastest implementation of decision-making algorithms by the operational personnel at the powerful support from the automated complex of dispatching control. It has been determined that the maximum effect of the implementation of the proposed approach could be obtained by synthesizing it with a system of active monitoring of moving units' traffic. Modeling an arbitrary case involving a train, which can occur in real operational circumstances, has made it possible to predict the violation of a normative train schedule and to simulate the cognitive process of decision-making by a train dispatcher to rationally resolve a complicated train situation under changing operational conditions while accounting for a significant number of factors. Modifying the language of train-related cases could adequately produce the spatial-time description of train situations along a simulated section, whereby it is the closest to the language of the dispatching personnel. The advantages of the proposed approach are that it makes it possible to form a database and a knowledge base as quickly as possible in order to form a working model of the system of dispatching control. A given system has been developed on the basis of the imitation of the cognitive activity of the human operator, thereby providing an opportunity to deepen the implementation of artificial intelligence systems on railroads. These innovations could help achieve the maximum level of safety in the transportation of dangerous goods while simultaneously and unconditionally reducing operating costs and gaining higher profits.Item Multi-Criteria Evaluation of Professional Qualities of Railway Dispatching Personnel Using Computer Simulations(Dnipro University of Technology, Dnipro, 2022) Ursarova, A.; Mussaliyeva, R.; Mussabayev, B.; Kozachenko, Dmytro M.; Vernyhora, Roman V.ENG: Purpose. Development of a formal method to evaluate professional training of operating and dispatching personnel of railway stations. Methodology. Simulation approaches to generate performance indicators of a human dispatcher under the specified operational conditions are selected as well as techniques of cluster and discriminant analysis to evaluate the obtained results. Findings human factor is one of the main factors determining the performance of technical systems in general and the efficiency of a railway transportation system in particular. Analysis of the transport accident causes demonstrates that from 63 to 95 % of them are related to some extent to a human factor. In this regard, a problem of objective assessment of dispatching staff training quality and its effect on the indices of railway transportation functioning, including the operation safety is reflected in this article. Based on investigations carried out and the results obtained the operator training simulator of railway station was developed. Originality. A simulator is improved of the railway station functioning while using deterministic finite automat formalizing the procedures. The proposed approach helps simulate processes taking place at the railway stations and resulting from the correct actions by operators as well as the incorrect ones. In addition, the paper proposes the improved method to evaluate professional training of station operators based upon the cluster and discriminant analysis providing HF impact minimization in the process of the problem solving. Practical value. The approaches have been proposed to apply while developing training equipment for station operators. On the one hand, formal methods of cluster and discriminant analysis help provide human participation in the evaluation of professional training of station operators at the stage of training sample formation to be analysed. On the other hand, they make it possible to identify the trainee affiliation with a group of the defined training level and prevent from HF impact while evaluating training results of certain applicants.Item Сompetitiveness Assessment of the Railway Network of Kazakhstan in the Performance of Transit Container Transportation(Dnipro University of Technology, Dnipro, Ukraine, 2023) Tilemissova, Aigul; Kozachenko, Dmytro M.; Vernyhora, Roman V.; Izteleuova, Maral; Arpabekov, MuratbekENG: Purpose. To improve the methods for assessing the routes of transportation of containers by transit railway administrations. Methodology. The results of the presented scientific research were obtained on the basis of general methods of cognition such as abstract-logical analysis, systematization, the method of theoretical generalization, as well as on the basis of special methods of economic and mathematical modeling, the theory of railway operation and transport geography. Findings. In the course of the study, an analysis was made of the transport network of the Eurasian continent as a whole and the railway transport network of Kazakhstan, as part of it, in particular. An assessment was made of the socioeconomic development of the regions, transportation between which can potentially be carried out through the territory of Kazakhstan. Indicators of the duration and cost of shipping containers by sea and rail between East Asia and Europe have been established. An assessment of the competitive ness of container transportation routes passing through the territory of Kazakhstan in comparison with alternative routes was made. Originality. In this paper, the method for estimating the routes of transportation of containers by transit railway administrations has been improved. Unlike existing methods, the assessment of the duration of transportation is carried out throughout the entire length of transportation “from door to door”. Also, the paper proposes to evaluate the effectiveness of railway routes, taking into account the service of the entire territory through which they pass, and not just the starting and ending points. Practical value. The results of the research allow railway administrations to improve the efficiency of planning the development of transit container traffic on different routes. The regions for which the railways of Kazakhstan can compete with maritime trans port both in terms of price and in terms of the speed of transportation for the entire container traffic, as well as regions for which competition can be carried out only for the market share of transportation in containers of valuable and perishable goods, have been established.
