K: У статті розглядаються проблеми перекладу особливої лексичної побудови – слова, яке створюється автором для досягнення певної мети того чи того художнього твору. Дослідження виконано на матеріалі російської та англійської мов. Проаналізовано приклади перекладів індивідуально-авторських новотворів у романах Дж. К Ролінг про Гаррі Поттера.uk_UA
N: The problems of translation of the special lexical construction are examined in the article - word which is created by an author for achievement of certain goal of this or that artistic work. The research is carried out on the material of the Russian and English languages. Despite a large number of works related to the issue of this article, the problem of translating the fictitious units still remains unresolved. In the article we aim to analyze the means of translation of individual-authored, fictional words. The research material is the well-known fantasy “Harry Potter”. In the novels of J. Rowling there is a large number of fictitious words that denote animals, the phenomena of the real and magical world, objects, and the secondary world. A separate manifestation of new developments in Harry Potter is the distortion of certain words (slips of the tongue). Many translation options arise during the translation of Rowling's punsneologisms. Most of them contain alliteration. For example, you can take the names of sweets, typical English or non-typical English magic food, which little magicians could buy in the village of "Hogsmead"; they are often transcribed without explanation. The most acceptable translation seems to be when the pun is preserved with the initial letters of the words. Two words in the original language are not transmitted by one in translation; otherwise the author's intention is to be missed. During the transfer of fictitious names to the holidays of the magic world, the Harry Potter translators were forced to create their own equivalents, as the transliteration method appeared not to be possible in this case. With abbreviations translators saved both the number of letters in both Ukrainian and Russian translations, but the meaning of the word had to be changed. In this case, the most appropriate was the method of compensation (there is a replacement of the unsettled element of the original similar or some other element, which fill the loss of information and can provide similar impact on the reader). Despite this, when the content of a new word was transmitted, the meaning of the abbreviation remained the same. The analysis of the most common words that Rowling suggests is that the structure of these words has a diverse semantic, etymological and semantic basis, and the most successful means of their translation are compensation and logical development.en
