| dc.description.abstract | RU: Рассматривается тенденция изучения семантики языковых единиц, которые попадают под категорию «конкретность – неконкретность», на основании принадлежности их к сфере понятий пространство и время. Предлагается рассматривать непредметные объекты – абстрактные существительные и номинализованные предложения как объекты интенсионального, ментального мира – мира эпистемологии, которому понятия пространство и время присущи в той же степени, что и реальному миру предметных объектов – миру онтологии. | ru_RU |

Пропонується розглядати непредметні об’єкти − абстрактні іменники й номіналізовані речення як об’єкти інтенсіонального, ментального світу – світу епістемології, якому поняття простір і час властиві такою ж мірою, якою вони характеризують і реальний світ предметних об’єктів – світ онтології. | uk_UA |
| dc.description.abstract | EN: This article deals with the current linguistic trend of subcategorizing concrete and abstract language units on the grounds of their belonging to the notional spheres of space and time. The topicality of the given study is predetermined by the need to reveal the explanatory potential of the notions of space and time for investigating the semantics and functions of language units that correspond to concrete and abstract propositional notions. Yu. S. Stepanov and N. D. Aroutyunova consider that concrete notions correlate with the spatial relations, while abstract propositional notions are organized on the basis of logical temporal relations. In accordance with the above mentioned way of classifying language units depending on their corresponding to concrete or abstract propositional notions Yu. S. Stepanov, N. D. Aroutyunova, T. V. Boulygina, S. A. Krylov state that the subject of the sentence realizes its denotative meaning while the predicate expresses the only component of its meaning which is the significative one. The author posits that the entirely significative nature of the meaning of the predicate does not prove the entirely denotative meaning structure of the language units functioning as the subject of the sentence. Proceeding from L. Wittgenstein’s definition of the meaning of the word as its use in the language, the author has substantiated that the noun realizes its identifying function by means of its complete meaning structure formed by both the denotative constituent and the significative one with the latter comprising all possible predications. The author suggests considering abstract notions that are represented by abstract nouns and nominalized sentences as objects of the intentional world in which the notions of space and time are inherent. | en |
