Тому важливою проблемою є прогнозування динаміки забруднення зони аерації з метою визначення часу, коли забруднювач досягне рівня підземних вод. Дуже важливою проблемою є розробка методів ліквідації областей забруднення в зоні аерації. Для цього потрібні спеціальні математичні моделі, що дозволяють визначити ефективність методів, що використовуються для захисту зони аерації та підземних вод.
